It's been... HOW LONG?!

As I sit and contemplate the passing of time, I'm observing my *now* 5-year-old brat messing with my makeup...

I cannot believe it's been two years since I have sat down and actually wrote in my blog. It's the day after Thanksgiving and I've been realizing that I LOVE to plan things, but never execute.

I've recently spent time growing my relationship with Christ. I wasn't spending time in Christ as I should have. I wasn't reading my bible, attending church, and I certainly wasn't modeling discipleship for my daughter. As the years continue, I am redirecting my life. I've gone through hell and back and never actually shared those testimonies. This blog will be perfect.

So, today I finally take hold of the "plans" I make for myself and follow through. My biggest motivator is sharing my experiences in life and how they have shaped me to be who I am today.

As an educator that loves storytelling, I have decided to write my first romance novel based in the glorious city of Albuquerque, NM. My city is gorgeous, and I want to highlight that beauty but also reveal the pain that many go through every day. I plan to write more about the themes and basis of the novel in the future. For now, here's what's going on for me:

  1. God blessed me with my Level II Special Education teaching license. I'm on my fifth year of teaching and see no stop anytime soon.
  2. God blessed me with a beautiful home for the last year. Thank you Lord for providing a roof over my head.
  3. God blessed me with the ability to explore the hobbies that bring me joy. I have expanded my acting career and pray for God's plans to come to fruition.
  4. God blessed me with the idea of writing my first novel. I am a published author, writing a piece for a research journal a few years ago, but I want to dive into storytelling, something I have always had a passion for. I remember a hilarious memory from middle school in which I wrote an extremely morbid horror story and was asked by my 6th-grade English teacher to read to an 8th-grade class. I remember the pride I had reading to an older group of students, hearing the students gasp as I read the details of the story.
  5. God blessed me with an amazing family. My husband continues to support my dreams, and I pray God continues to guide us on the path he has laid out for us.

I think the frontal lobe is developing because I have more enlightenment on what my purpose is. To be a disciple of Christ and share my testimony to how I have become someone who puts their full faith and hope into my Lord and Savior.

Thanks for reading! I'll catch you all again soon. :)
